I’ve used Tom for my properties I’ve sold. So it was only fitting that I use him for my own house too. I have a dog, so my carpet is wrecked. It’s been cleaned several times. They are quick, thorough, and he gets all the spots out. I like that he puts butcher paper down the walk ways. It really helps. I had an emergency because we had a party and someone threw up red velvet cupcakes in my guest room. I pre-cleaned it before he came. Tom works miracles but red dye no. 5 is not our friend.

So I had a couch that was somewhat stained… actually, the couch and our first baby both arrived the same weekend, and after 20 months we had to get it cleaned.  It was filthy, lord knows what was behind the stains.  Anyway, somehow HD Buttercup forgot to apply any stain guard on a $9,000 couch and Tom came out and gave it a whirl.  We agreed to a price for the couch and the rug, and he also threw in cleaning some other items in the family room. Well the couch was a certain fabric that pretty much makes stains permanent.  The impressive thing about Tom / First Choice is that he offered to refund half the total charge and also was very helpful in recommending a good reupholstery contact. Integrity is very important to me… I will use this company again.

First off, he arrived at the beginning of the time frame given. That was a major plus for my elderly grandma. He was engaging with her and was very articulate explaining things, she’s very hard of hearing. And….She thought he was cute :). She had her carpets cleaned about a year ago by a chain. There was a spot on her carpet they couldn’t get out, Tom did.  He was very knowledgeable about why we had him there. That was a relief because she was panicked he didn’t know what he was doing or do a good job. All I can say is she smiled and gave him the “nod” of approval. If anyone understands elderly, they are not eager to spend a lot of money and barely tip. She had zero issue with his price, more than fair, and she tipped him!  She said she only wants him to clean her carpets from now on. Thanks Tom!!

I had my carpets and couch cleaned by FCC and the results were amazing!  Tom was awesome, one of the best experiences I have had with home services in my life.  My couch was so bad that I was going to just buy a new one, and now mine is like new.  He got all of the stains out of the carpet and it looks new as well.  Price was very reasonable and I couldn’t be happier.  You would be crazy to use anybody else for this service.

I live in a senior apartment complex, 1 bed/1 bath/hallway. First Choice was highly recommended by my neighbor and their yelp deal was fantastic. They couldn’t do my bedroom as I have my parent’s 1920s antique bedroom set which takes up the whole room, just a tiny walking space to get around it. My choice. But Jim steamed the hall and living room and I was quite impressed. First, he and his brother, who run the company, are very old school friendly, on time, and very efficient. And he moved around my furniture which was an enormous help to me as a senior, tho I do have everything on little movers so everything slides easily. His equipment was modern and up to date, and not nearly as noisy as the old machines that other companies use. he was thoughtful and considerate not to bang his equipment into my furniture (and these are small apartments), and ended by giving me helpful hints to keep the look fresh and new. it was a steam clean, not a shampoo. He showed me the water after and how dirty it was. my apartment faces a hillside so I get a ton of dirt, dust, pollen and black air fuel dust as I’m in the LAX flight path. My carpet looked brand new. And it took about less than an hour. No upsells, no resells, just good old fashioned good guy work. Very pleased and very impressed. Felt like an old friend taking good care of me… something you don’t see anymore. I wear white socks and did notice a few days after that the bottoms were a little dirty but I’ve had the windows open all week so it could have been fresh dust from the hillside but they were not nearly as black as they can be before Jim did the steam,  more like a light brown. So that was my test, the white sock test. I will definitely be using these guys in the future, maybe even twice a year (waited 2 years this time) but never again. it felt like I had a new carpet, shiny and clean. I couldn’t wait to vacuum the next day after it had dried so I could see all the slick vac lines that new carpet shows after a good vacuum. highly recommend these dudes… good people, good work, good prices, fair and honest. Can’t say that about too many companies anymore. And as woman, I felt completely safe with Jim in my home.

From the first phone call I could tell these guys had integrity and experience. I had called 4 other places requesting bicycle oil be removed from our couch. All the other places I called said it was not possible to remove the oil (which I realize now is because it wasn’t worth their time for the amount of cleaning it was). Tom was excellent. Not only was he able to COMPLETELY REMOVE the oil stain, but he also cleaned our living room area rug just because he felt it was only fair considering the stain on our couch wasn’t huge. He was very pleasant and genuine. I will most definitely be referring this company (which was founded in 1982 btw) AND using their services for all future cleanings. Also, bike oil is not usually an easy stain to remove, but Tom is super experienced and knowledgeable, so he made it look easy. Thanks, guys!
